Your experience begins with a private guided tour with a Wildlife Keeper. See the only Tasmanian Devil in North Queensland, Dingo’s, hand feed kangaroos and wallabies, and get up close and personal with one of the resident Koalas and have your photo taken with them.

Join other guests in the amphitheatre for the Pamagirri Dance Show. This is a traditional dance performance depicting animals, food gathering and hunting. Be prepared to have fun, because there is audience participation – so have your video ready!

From there its on an adventure that is unique to the Rainforest Station – hop on board an authentic amphibious World War II Army Duck. Sample exotic and local fruits at the Tropical Fruit Orchard, which features over 60 different species.

Enjoy a ‘Bush Tucka’ inspired BBQ lunch and a spot of shopping before heading back to Cairns.

Pamagirri Dreamtime Walk,Traditional Indigenous Activities

Your next experience is the Pamagirri Dreamtime Walk where you can try your hand at boomerang throwing. Then marvel at the skill of tradition spear-throwing (you do not participate), then it’s off to didgeridoo playing. There are plenty of photo opportunities and a lot of laughter along the way.

Bush Tucka Walk,Pamagirri Dance Show

Next join your Pamagirri guide for an in-depth, interactive experience - Bush Tucka Walk. You will be guided through some of the oldest rainforest in the world. After being traditionally welcomed and shown how plants, fruits and berries were traditionally used as food and remedies. Depending on the season you may even get to try some. You will learn how Gunyas (Aboriginal Huts) were constructed, as well as traditional artefacts such as hook boomerangs and stone axes. Join other guests in the amphitheatre for the Pamagirri Dance Show. This is a traditional dance performance depicting animals, food gathering and hunting. Be prepared to have fun, because there is audience participation – so have your video ready!

Army Duck ,Rainforest Tour

Your next stop is the Army Duck Rainforest Tour. Joining other guests on an authentic amphibious World War II Army Duck. This is definitely an experience like no other. Along the way your Army Duck Captain will identify and explain plants and wildlife. Camera’s at the ready here! After a short trip through the rainforest you will be splashing into the lake for a cruise – yes in the same vehicle! More wildlife to be found here. At the end of this tour you will be met for a guided tour through the Tropical Fruit Orchard, which features over 60 different species of exotic tropical fruit trees. In this tranquil setting you learn about fruits from around the region and world. You will get to sample some of these (seasonal).

Lunch,Treehouse Restaurant

Now after all of that, it is time to relax. It’s time for lunch. Dine in the Treehouse Restaurant, a majestic setting under fig trees. The Bush Tucka inspired BBQ Buffet Lunch is a perfect way to end this amazing day. Dine on tender steaks, try a kangaroo skewer, stirfrys, sweet potatoes with paperbark cooked in traditional Kup-Murri style. There is an excellent selection of fresh salads, fruits and cheeses. Vegetarian options are included. There is sure to be plenty to entice and excite. Enjoy with a cold beverage from the licenced bar.
After lunch you will have time to wander around the gift shop and take in the history surrounding the walls of the Station. Head back down the range with a stop at the Lookout overlooking Cairns.

Pickup Cairns CBD (location confirmed at time of booking). Pickup Cairns Southside and Northern Beach’s (locations confirmed at time of booking). Pickup time - time and any variation will be noted and confirmed at time of booking. Tour returns to original departure point unless stated or confirmed at time of booking. Times dependent upon tour booked.

Tour Notes

This tour requires a minimum of 2 person to operate. All tours must be prepaid 48 hrs prior to travel. It is advisable for clients to arrange suitable travel insurance to cover factors out of our control. Army Duck and Pamagirri Dance Show are not exclusive. Should you wish a private Army Duck Tour please enquire for pricing. Lunch is in the Treehouse Restaurant – Private table but not sole use of restaurant. Your vehicle is not exclusive unless booked entirely with 6 persons or hired for the day. Fitness Level for this tour is low to medium, please advise any mobility issues as The Bush Tucka Walk includes stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs or wheelie walkers. The Army Duck vehicle requires stepping into and out of. Any surcharges from suppliers will be advised at time of booking.
